Health Awareness Program for Rural Women

On 21 December 2024, SARVAM conducted a health awareness program at the Satyam Community Centre in Poothurai, benefiting 100 women from six nearby villages. The initiative aimed to educate and empower rural women with essential knowledge about nutrition, hygiene, disease prevention, and overall well-being.

The program began with an introductory session emphasizing the importance of regular health check-ups, balanced diets, and physical and mental health for holistic well-being. Experts conducted practical demonstrations on personal and community hygiene, ensuring the content was relatable and easily understood. Special attention was given to addressing common health challenges faced by rural women, such as anaemia and reproductive health concerns. Participants were also informed about various government healthcare schemes and facilities available to them.


The event fostered an engaging and interactive environment, concluding with an open discussion where attendees shared their concerns and received tailored advice from health experts. Feedback from the participants highlighted the program’s effectiveness in encouraging them to adopt healthier practices and seek timely medical assistance. This initiative marked a significant milestone in SARVAM’s ongoing efforts to enhance health standards in rural communities.
