SARVAM, with the support of TCS Foundation (TCSF), organised a capacity-building and leadership training programme on 20 October 2026 at Satyam Community Centre. The programme reached 120 women from four villages and was conducted in four batches to facilitate effective participation and interaction. The primary objective was to strengthen women’s leadership abilities, build their self-confidence, and encourage them to take an active role in their families, communities, and village-level development initiatives.
The training focused on essential leadership skills, including effective communication, teamwork, decision-making, problem-solving, self-confidence, and taking initiative. These skills were introduced to help participants recognise their individual strengths, develop their ability to work collaboratively, and approach challenges with greater confidence.

The sessions followed an interactive and participatory approach, incorporating group discussions, practical exercises, and activities that encouraged participants to exchange ideas and reflect on the importance of leadership in everyday life.
To make the training relevant and relatable, the trainers incorporated contemporary learning methods and real-life stories of women who had overcome challenges, demonstrated courage, taken responsibility, and brought positive changes to their communities. These examples encouraged participants to reflect on their own experiences, express their views, and learn from one another. The discussions also helped them consider how leadership qualities could be applied in practical situations, including family responsibilities, community engagement, and participation in local development activities.

The programme emphasised the importance of translating the knowledge and skills gained during the training into meaningful action. Participants were encouraged to take leadership initiatives within their families and communities, contribute actively to village development, and motivate other women to recognise and develop their potential. They were also encouraged to work collectively, support one another, raise their voices on issues affecting their communities, and make informed decisions that contribute to inclusive and sustainable development.
Through this initiative, SARVAM, with the support of TCSF, sought to strengthen women’s leadership capacity and promote their active participation in community development and decision-making processes. The training provided an opportunity for 120 women from four villages to build essential leadership skills and reflect on how they could contribute to positive change in their communities.
