SARVAM organised an Elderly Women Well-Being and Refreshing Programme on 19 June 2026 at the Satyam Community Centre, bringing together 75 elderly women from 15 villages. The programme was designed to promote physical, emotional, and social well-being while providing participants with a joyful and rejuvenating experience that encouraged healthy and active ageing.

To ensure meaningful participation and personalised interaction, the programme was conducted in two batches by experienced trainers. The sessions included group activities, interactive discussions, relaxation exercises, motivational talks, and recreational activities, creating a warm and engaging environment where participants could learn, share, and connect with one another.

The programme focused on several important aspects of well-being in later life, including the significance of maintaining physical and mental health, developing a positive outlook towards ageing, and strengthening emotional resilience. Participants were introduced to practical stress-management and relaxation techniques that could be easily incorporated into their daily routines. The sessions also highlighted the importance of self-confidence, self-worth, and adopting healthy lifestyle practices that contribute to active and fulfilling ageing.

Special emphasis was placed on the value of social engagement and the role of strong support networks in enhancing overall well-being. Through interactive activities and group discussions, the participants were encouraged to share their experiences, build new friendships, and strengthen existing community connections. Joyful and recreational activities further helped create an atmosphere of happiness, reducing feelings of loneliness and fostering a sense of belonging.

Many expressed that the sessions made them feel refreshed, motivated, and valued. The programme provided a supportive space where participants could celebrate their experiences, gain new perspectives, and enhance their confidence and emotional well-being.

As an outcome, the programme significantly strengthened the participants’ emotional health, self-confidence, and social connectedness. It fostered a positive and uplifting environment that encouraged healthy ageing, community participation, and personal well-being. The participants concluded the programme feeling energised, inspired, and eager to take part in similar initiatives in the future, while also requesting that such programmes be organised regularly to continue supporting their well-being and social engagement.
