Wellness and Rejuvenation Program for Elderly Women

Date: 15-Jul-2026

Location: Satyam Community Centre

On 15 July 2026, SARVAM organised a Wellness and Rejuvenation Programme at the Satyam Community Centre for 75 elderly women from 15 villages, with the objective of promoting their physical, mental and social well-being. The programme was designed to empower senior women to lead healthier, happier and more independent lives while addressing the emotional and social challenges often associated with ageing.

The sessions were facilitated by two experienced trainers, who conducted interactive activities in two groups, creating a warm, welcoming and supportive environment for learning and engagement. The programme featured group discussions, relaxation techniques, simple breathing exercises, recreational activities and confidence-building sessions, encouraging participants to actively engage and share their experiences.

A range of topics essential to healthy ageing was covered during the programme, including maintaining physical and mental health, living independently with confidence, managing stress and overcoming loneliness, cultivating a positive mindset and emotional resilience, building self-confidence and self-worth, adopting healthy lifestyle and nutrition practices, strengthening family and community relationships, and participating in meaningful activities to remain active and socially connected.

The participants enthusiastically shared their personal stories, life experiences and challenges, making the sessions deeply interactive and meaningful. The programme also provided a valuable opportunity for women from neighbouring villages to connect, build friendships and offer mutual encouragement. The joyful atmosphere fostered a strong sense of belonging, emotional support and community spirit.

The programme concluded on a highly positive note, with participants expressing greater confidence, improved emotional well-being and stronger social connectedness. Many shared that they felt more empowered to manage the challenges of ageing while maintaining an active and independent lifestyle. They appreciated the practical guidance and supportive environment provided during the sessions and expressed a strong desire for similar wellness programmes to be organised on a regular basis.
