On 13th February 2025, SARVAM conducted a motivational and awareness program on Active Aging and Mindfulness at the Satyam Community Centre, Puducherry. This initiative benefited over 250 senior citizens from 13 villages, empowering them to embrace a healthier and more mindful lifestyle.
The program focused on physical activity, mental well-being, and social engagement, key aspects of active aging. Expert facilitators introduced participants to mindfulness techniques, stress management strategies, and ways to incorporate movement into daily routines. These sessions emphasized the importance of staying physically active, mentally alert, and socially connected, enabling elders to lead fulfilling and independent lives.
A major highlight of the program was its interactive and participatory approach. Senior citizens actively engaged in group discussions, storytelling, and experience-sharing, fostering a sense of community and mutual learning. Practical demonstrations of yoga, breathing exercises, and relaxation techniques made mindfulness concepts more accessible and enjoyable.
The response from participants was overwhelmingly positive. Many expressed their gratitude, stating that the program helped them feel more confident, motivated, and aware of holistic well-being practices.
