On 19 February 2026, SARVAM organised a vibrant and meaningful Women’s Day skill games programme at the Satyam Community Centre, bringing together approximately 250 elderly women from 10 villages in a heart-warming celebration of unity, dignity, and joyful participation. The event was specially curated for women aged between 60 and above, creating a space where grandmothers could come together to celebrate their strength, resilience, and enduring spirit. The programme commenced with an orientation session that emphasised the importance of respecting and honouring elderly women, acknowledging their invaluable wisdom, life experience, and continued role in guiding younger generations.

The participants enthusiastically engaged in a variety of thoughtfully designed indoor and outdoor games, including relay races, balloon games, ball throw, and hoop activities. These activities were structured to encourage movement, teamwork, and shared enjoyment. To ensure inclusivity and equal participation, the grandmothers were divided into groups of ten, fostering cooperation and collective encouragement. Despite their age, each participant displayed remarkable enthusiasm, energy, and determination, filling the atmosphere with laughter and excitement.

A notable highlight of the programme was the spirit of equality and harmony that prevailed throughout the event. Women from diverse villages and backgrounds came together without distinctions of caste or social status, participating as one united community. The group-based activities strengthened bonds, nurtured mutual support, and reflected the true essence of Women’s Day — empowerment, inclusion, and celebration of womanhood at every stage of life.
The programme concluded with the distribution of small prizes to winners in recognition of their efforts, while every participant received a gift as a token of appreciation for their active involvement. The event ended on an emotional and fulfilling note, with many participants expressing heartfelt gratitude, some moved to tears of joy. Beyond games and celebration, the initiative reinforced dignity, respect, belonging, and happiness among the elderly women, leaving a lasting impact on all who were present.
