It is gratifying and encouraging to note that palliative care providers celebrated this year’s World Hospice and Palliative Care Day (WHPCD) with grandeur on the 14th of October every year.
More than 900 students from 40 project villages participated in this awareness programme. This programme aimed to disseminate awareness of palliative care through speeches, drawings, and practical explanations on managing palliative care patients. Organizers provided students with resources like pamphlets, brochures, and posters to educate them on the importance of palliative care.
SARVAM also organized group discussions to discuss the importance of palliative care. The feedback from the students was overwhelmingly positive. They expressed a desire to learn more about palliative care. In the end, it was decided to conduct such informative programmes on a regular basis.
