On 1st July 2025, a practical and inspiring saree draping training session was organised at the Satyam Training Centre by SARVAM, Puducherry. This initiative is part of SARVAM’s 20-year-long journey of empowering rural women through relevant and practical skill development programmes. These initiatives have consistently helped women enhance their self-confidence, expand their capabilities, and create sustainable livelihood opportunities within their communities.
The training focused on teaching participants a variety of saree draping styles, customer interaction techniques, and tips on how to monetise the skill as a service. The participants, primarily women from surrounding villages, actively engaged in the session and showed a deep interest in learning the intricacies of draping with grace and professionalism.
SARVAM’s skill development modules are carefully designed to reflect the evolving needs of rural communities. With a strong emphasis on hands-on learning, this session offered more than just technique—it sparked enthusiasm and opened up conversations on self-reliance and entrepreneurship.
The success of this event was marked by the overwhelming response and the eager requests from participants for more such practical and income-generating trainings. As SARVAM continues its work in capacity building, such sessions reaffirm its commitment to equipping women with the knowledge, skills, and confidence to build a better future.
