On the occasion of Deepavali, a special one-day training programme titled I Can! was conducted across 11 locations, benefiting approximately 300 students aged 5 to 13 years. The programme aimed to cultivate enthusiasm, self-confidence, and teamwork among children, while also helping them grasp the deeper significance of the festival of lights—spreading joy, kindness, and togetherness.
The main objectives of the training were to foster self-confidence and a positive mindset, encourage team spirit through interactive activities, help children recognise their own strengths and potential, and promote the values of sharing, caring, and social responsibility associated with Deepavali.
The programme commenced with a lively discussion on Deepavali, emphasising its symbolism as the triumph of light over darkness. Children actively participated in a variety of engaging activities, including games, poster-making, and storytelling sessions. These exercises reinforced the themes of self-belief, creativity, and collaboration, ensuring that learning was both enjoyable and meaningful.

Following the training, sweets, crackers, and gifts were distributed, filling the atmosphere with festive cheer. In a heart-warming extension of the programme, the children visited elderly and vulnerable individuals in their communities, sharing buns, sweets, and crackers. This initiative enabled them to experience empathy, kindness, and the true spirit of giving firsthand.
Overall, the I Can! programme proved to be a joyous and enriching experience for both participants and facilitators. It successfully combined learning with celebration, helping children build confidence, strengthen cooperation, and understand the importance of compassion and community bonding. By instilling the values of self-belief and generosity, the programme empowered children to spread happiness, lighting up lives just as Deepavali lights up the world.
