Financial Literacy Programme for Village Students

Date: 14-Jul-2024

Location: 10 Different Villages

On 13th and 14th July 2024, an awareness program on the importance of saving and spending money wisely was conducted by volunteers with the support of SARVAM and CPCL. More than 300 students from 10 different villages participated in this financial literacy initiative.

The program aimed to instil the habit of saving money early in students, highlighting the lifelong benefits of financial discipline. By developing a savings habit during their student years, students can build a foundation for financial stability, enabling them to accumulate funds for future investments, such as buying a house or starting a business. Early savings also provide a safety net for unexpected expenses and emergencies.

During the program, various topics were covered, including the value and advantages of saving money, how to spend money wisely, where to save money, and the importance of learning these lessons early on. The students responded enthusiastically to the awareness initiative through engaging activities like posters, coin-bank group discussions, and stories. Many students expressed gratitude for the practical advice and real-world examples shared during the sessions. They felt more confident in managing their finances and were eager to start saving immediately.

SARVAM regularly conducts such programs to benefit students, ensuring they receive essential financial education to prepare them for a secure future.
