SARVAM continues its sustained commitment to improving rural health outcomes through its “Healthy Communities at the Doorstep” initiative, which focuses on bringing essential healthcare services directly to underserved populations. On 9 January 2026, SARVAM successfully conducted a large-scale community health screening programme across ten project villages, reaching nearly 1,100 individuals in a single day. The programme included screening tests for blood sugar, haemoglobin levels, and blood pressure, with the dual objective of early detection of health concerns and promotion of preventive health awareness among rural communities.

The initiative was warmly received by the villagers, many of whom face significant financial, physical, and logistical challenges in accessing regular medical care. Doorstep screening proved especially beneficial for elderly residents, daily wage earners, and those with mobility constraints, as it eliminated the need for long-distance travel and loss of income. Participants expressed relief and gratitude for the convenience and compassion with which the services were delivered.
Individuals identified with abnormal readings or potential health risks were carefully counselled and guided to seek further medical consultation. Special attention was extended to elderly and vulnerable participants, who were connected with the area nurse for ongoing monitoring and follow-up care. This ensured continuity of care and reinforced SARVAM’s holistic approach to community health beyond mere diagnostics.

In addition to screening, the programme played a vital role in enhancing health awareness among villagers. Many participants reported undergoing such tests for the first time and felt reassured by gaining insight into their health status. The initiative underscored the importance of regular monitoring and early intervention in preventing chronic illnesses.
Overall, the programme strengthened trust and rapport between SARVAM and the local communities. The villagers’ heartfelt appreciation reflected the impact of SARVAM’s consistent efforts, empathy, and dedication to improving access to healthcare. The initiative not only addressed immediate health needs but also contributed to long-term wellbeing and community confidence.
