A Training of Trainers (ToT) programme titled “Training to Transform – Win by Managing Negative Feelings” was conducted at the Satyam Community Centre on 6 February 2026 by Sarvam, with the objective of equipping volunteers with practical skills to understand and manage fear and other negative emotions effectively. The training aimed to strengthen the volunteers’ capacity to guide others in responding calmly to challenging situations, fostering self-respect, and building emotional resilience.

The session focused on helping participants recognise and understand common negative emotions such as fear, anxiety, and feelings of inferiority. Participants were encouraged to openly reflect on situations that trigger fear in their lives and examine the underlying reasons for these emotions. This process created a safe and supportive learning environment where participants could share experiences without judgement and develop greater emotional awareness.

An interactive role-play activity formed a key part of the training. Each participant enacted a fear-inducing situation drawn from personal experience and explained why it caused distress or anxiety. This experiential approach helped participants realise that fear is a universal human emotion and that it can be addressed through awareness, calm thinking, and appropriate action rather than panic or avoidance.

The programme emphasised the importance of maintaining composure in difficult situations, analysing possible outcomes, and responding thoughtfully. Participants were guided to accept mistakes honestly and take responsibility for their actions, with the understanding that acknowledging errors at an early stage can prevent further losses, emotional strain, and complications in life.

Special attention was given to understanding the intentions behind fear or warnings, particularly those received from parents or well-wishers. Participants learned that such warnings are often expressions of care and protection rather than threats. The session also reinforced the importance of reporting any form of threat to trusted individuals immediately and highlighted the value of self-respect, reminding participants never to think poorly of themselves or demean others. Through this training, Sarvam strengthened the volunteers’ ability to promote emotional balance, confidence, and resilience within the community.
