Women’s Day Celebrations

Date:08-Mar-2024

Location:20 project villages

SARVAM held a women’s day celebration program on account of International Women’s Day for around 600+ participants from 20 villages.

To support women year-round, this year’s International Women’s Day campaign theme of #InspireInclusion” calls for action to break down barriers, challenge stereotypes, and create environments where all women are valued and respected.

Knowing that women are the true architects of society, SARVAM organized a Women’s Day celebration on March 8th, 2024, with more than 600 women from 20 villages in attendance. Organizing Women’s Day celebrations in rural areas is significant as it empowers women and provides a platform to voice their concerns and aspirations. It helps raise awareness about women’s rights and gender equality, fostering a sense of solidarity among women and inspiring them to challenge societal norms. These events also create a supportive community where women can connect, share experiences, and access resources and opportunities that may not be available in their villages.

As part of the program, AS gave a talk on Women’s Day, and its importance, and outdoor and indoor games were conducted for the women. The program had a significant impact on the participants as it not only provided them with the opportunity to celebrate Women’s Day but also allowed them to engage in outdoor and indoor games, promoting physical and mental well-being. This inclusive and empowering approach helped to foster a sense of community and empowerment among the women, highlighting the program’s value to their overall development. By promoting physical and mental well-being, the program likely contributed to improved overall health and longevity for the women. The sense of community and empowerment fostered by the program may have also inspired and motivated the women to pursue personal goals and break societal barriers, ultimately leading to greater gender equality and personal development. Additionally, the program provided a platform for networking and mentorship opportunities, further empowering the women and opening up new avenues for their professional growth.

Altogether, this Women’s Day programme was helpful for the women to share their thoughts and have fun by keeping aside their families, their troubles and all their household chores away for some time. Supporting each other in a community allows women to share their experiences, advice, and emotional support, which can significantly benefit their mental well-being.

It also fosters a sense of belonging and community, providing women with a network of like-minded individuals who can offer guidance, mentorship, and opportunities for personal and professional growth. Additionally, women supporting each other can empower them to challenge societal norms and expectations, creating a more inclusive and equitable society for all.
