Date: 14-Aug-2026

Location: Satyam Community Centre

As part of its livelihood development initiatives, SARVAM organised a three-day Upskilling Training on Cattle Rearing for 30 women cattle rearers from 10 villages at the Satyam Community Centre. The training aimed to enhance the participants’ knowledge and skills in scientific and improved cattle-rearing practices, enabling them to manage their livestock more effectively as a livelihood activity.

The training was facilitated by a resource person with expertise in cattle rearing and livestock management. The sessions focused on the practical aspects of proper cattle care, nutrition and feeding, hygiene, health management, and improved livestock-rearing practices. Participants were encouraged to share their experiences and discuss the challenges they encounter in their day-to-day cattle-rearing activities, making the sessions practical and relevant to their needs.

The programme provided participants with practical knowledge to help improve the health and productivity of their cattle and manage their livestock enterprises more effectively. The training covered the importance of scientific cattle-rearing practices, balanced nutrition and feeding, proper hygiene and health management, timely identification and care of common cattle health issues, and measures to improve productivity and reduce avoidable losses.

The three-day programme also helped strengthen the participants’ confidence in managing cattle rearing as a sustainable livelihood activity. By equipping 30 women cattle rearers with improved knowledge and practical skills, the training is expected to contribute to better cattle health, enhanced productivity and strengthened livelihood opportunities for the participating women.
