As part of its efforts to strengthen the skills and livelihoods of women entrepreneurs, SARVAM organised three-day Upskilling Training on Tailoring at the Satyam Community Centre. The programme was designed to help women tailoring entrepreneurs upgrade their existing skills, learn contemporary techniques and improve the quality and marketability of their products.
A master trainer with expertise in modern tailoring techniques conducted the sessions, with a particular focus on modern blouse stitching and designing techniques. The training introduced participants to current trends and enabled them to improve their technical skills and adapt their services to changing customer preferences.

The training was conducted in two batches, with a total of 50 women entrepreneurs participating. Combining demonstrations with hands-on practical learning, the programme gave participants an opportunity to understand and practise the techniques introduced during the sessions. This practical approach helped strengthen their confidence and provided them with skills that could be applied directly to their tailoring businesses.

The three-day programme helped participants upgrade their tailoring and stitching skills, learn modern blouse designs, improve the quality and finishing of their products, and gain confidence in taking customer orders based on current market trends. The training also sought to strengthen their entrepreneurial capabilities and competitiveness in the local market, with the potential to enhance their income through improved tailoring services.
Overall, the Upskilling Training on Tailoring provided 50 women entrepreneurs with valuable practical exposure to contemporary tailoring techniques, supporting their efforts to expand their customer base, improve their products and services, and strengthen their livelihoods. SARVAM will continue to support women entrepreneurs through relevant skill-development and livelihood-focused initiatives.
