Celebrating Sri Aurobindo’s Legacy and National Pride with 350 Students

On 10th and 11th August 2024, around 350 students across 12 villages came together with SARVAM, Puducherry, to celebrate Sri Aurobindo’s birthday and Independence Day. The dual celebration honoured Sri Aurobindo’s spiritual legacy while fostering a deep sense of national pride among the participants.

The events began with an orientation session covering the significance of Independence Day and the contributions of key national leaders, including Mahatma Gandhi, Jawaharlal Nehru, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, and Sri Aurobindo. The students engaged in various activities, including singing patriotic songs, creating drawings, and crafting handwork that symbolised their respect and love for the nation. These activities not only instilled patriotism but also provided the students with a deeper understanding of their cultural heritage.

The celebrations successfully united the students, encouraging them to appreciate the sacrifices made by national leaders and to cherish the freedoms they enjoy today. The events also promoted community participation, strengthening bonds within the villages and fostering a sense of unity and shared cultural identity.
