Shanthi Ashram, Coimbatore honours SARVAM coordinators

“Women in Leadership” is an award endowed by Shanthi Ashram, Coimbatore for women who have done incomparable services to those in need. This award is felicitated on International Women’s Day every year.

This year, 2 coordinators from SARVAM were bestowed with this award, and also “100 women leaders from the frontlines” were given certificates for their outstanding service during COVID-19.

As part of the Women’s Day Celebrations 2021, Shanthi Ashram, Coimbatore honored 100 women from various states of India on 6th March who has served with distinction on the FRONTLINES during this ongoing COVID-19 Pandemic.

This award is for their outstanding essential services like creation of awareness about the pandemic among the rural people, constant supply of the necessities, arranging online classes for the students, early childhood services, health services, public health education, direct cash transfers, social protection, and technical support to bridge the digital divide. Despite the most challenging circumstances they have served their communities and ensured that their professionalism is of high quality!

A trophy, cash prize, and certificates were given by Shanthi Ashram that was issued at the Satyam Community Center in Poothurai to these two outstanding ladies.  More than 100 digital sakhis were present on this occasion that was held on 8th March as part of the Women’s Day Celebrations.  Ms. Chitra of SARVAM while delivering her Women’s Day speech mentioned that it was two members who have received the award this time and in the years to come it should be more in numbers.  This was a motivational message that all the women took back with them.
